THE ONLY CONTOUR PALETTE YOU NEED by Jasmine Lewis Humphrey
After the popularity of my last article, I thought I’d follow up and give y’all another cheeky makeup product you need this season. Now if you haven’t read my last article on must have makeup products, then you need to go do that now. I ain’t playin'. But if you have (go you, you are amazing) then you’ll remember the Collection’s Eyeshadow Palette which I raved about. Well, turns out, they have quite a few rave-worthy products. The one that has me going cray cray in best way is their Highlight and Contour palette.
I have been searching for contour palette for a hot minute and after toying with a few expensive alternatives I decided (due to the success of their eyeshadow palette) to give the Collection’s contour set a go. Now let me just start off by saying that being olive skinned, finding a contour shade that isn’t too reddish or too ashy is super hard, especially if you're armed with a limited budget. Champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget, am I right? So when I only paid £2.99 for this product I was more than a tad dubious...
After priming, applying my base coat and highlighter I went in with the contour shade. I used a Real Techniques Retractable Kabuki Brush (only £9.59 from boots) to apply on the hollows of my cheek before blending out. Not only do you not need a lot of product, because this bad boy is extremely pigmented, but it blends like butter. The contour shade is very natural, giving off a natural deep chocolate hue. This makes it extremely versatile for not only olive skin but paler or darker skin as well.
With regards to the highlight shade unfortunately it is a tad too pale for my skin offering more a of a light champagne hue. So unfortunately I don’t use this shade to highlight my cheeks or tip of my nose, however I occasionally use it in the corner of my eyes to brighten them. The highlight again is very pigmented and like the contour, is super easy to blend out. I imagine that it would work very well on a lighter skin tone and make you shine like a god damn diamond. Boom bitch.
So all in all I can’t rave enough about this product at it’s price point and would recommend any makeup enthusiast to buy it if they want a fierce ass contoured mug.
